The standard method for automating tasks for Live@EDU such as querying, creating, updating and deleting user mailboxes, distribution groups, and contacts is via Powershell.  While this method is functional, it lacks the ease of integration and robustness of other methods such as web services.

With the Identity Automation Web Services Server for Microsoft Live@EDU, it is now possible to interact with Live@EDU via REST Web Services which makes it possible to interact via any system that is capable of making web services calls.  This method also provides significantly greater scalability by greatly enhancing session management with .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
